We collect personal information about you in a variety of contexts, as described below:

We collect personal information you provide through the Services, including Contact Identifiers such as your first and last name, postal address, email address, and phone number.

We collect personal information you provide when you request legal services or participate in a contractual or pre-contractual arrangement for legal services, including:

● Commercial or transaction information, including records of products or services you purchased, obtained, or considered.
● Professional, employment, or education-related information, including job title, company name, and business phone number.
● Payment information, including your payment instrument number (such as a credit or debit card number), expiration date, and security code as necessary to process your payments. This information is processed by our payment processors.
● User-generated content, including content with any messages you send to us (such as feedback, legal inquiries, questions, or survey responses) or publicly post on the Services.

When you use the Services, we and the third parties we work with automatically collect information from your browser or device. The categories of information we automatically collect include:

● Device identifiers, including your device’s IP address.

We collect information from other sources. The categories of information from which we collect information include:

●Third-party vendors and related parties we work with in connection with receiving analytics, advertising, security, and fraud prevention services.

If you publicly reference our Services on social media (such as by using a hashtag associated with us in a tweet or post), we may use your reference on or in connection with our Services. We also collect Contact Identifiers such as your first and last name, email address, and phone number, from marketing leads (e.g., Lead Generation Ads on TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram), search results, and links, including paid listings (such as sponsored links).

We infer new information from other information we collect, including to generate information about your likely preferences or other characteristics.

To the extent any of the categories of information we collect are sensitive categories of information under applicable law, we process such information only for the limited purposes permitted by applicable law. We do not sell or use sensitive categories of information for purposes of targeted advertising or to make inferences.

Similar to many websites, we employ various tracking technologies within our Services. The types of tracking technologies we use depend on how you access and interact with our Services.

UELG utilizes browser cookies, which are small data files placed on a computer while browsing the Websites or using our Services. 6.1 You have choices regarding marketing-related communications. If you wish to opt out of marketing emails, you may do so by following the unsubscribe instructions or contacting us as set out in the Contacting Us section below. For texts, you may opt-out by texting “STOP” in response to any text message you receive from us or by contacting us at info@uelglaw.com and specifying you want to opt out of text messages. Please note your opt-out is limited to the email address or phone number used and will not affect subsequent subscriptions.

To mitigate the risk of unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure of Personal Data under our control and custody, we have implemented reasonable physical, administrative, and technical safeguards as mentioned below:

a) Physical Security Procedures: Users’ data is securely stored with a trusted cloud hosting provider.
b) Administrative Security Procedures: Access to personal information is limited to authorized personnel based on internal access controls and role permissions. We have a secure system for managing the assignment, revocation, and review of access and privileges. Multi-factor authentication is required for remote access to all accounts connecting to our cloud environment for deploying, maintaining, monitoring, and operating systems where user personal data is stored.
c) Technical Security Procedures: We utilize an automated system to monitor logs and security events, generating alerts for any abnormal or security-related incidents. Our systems undergo regular vulnerability testing and security assessments every 12 months. Additionally, we have protocols for updating system code and environments, including servers, virtual machines, distributions, libraries, packages, and antivirus software.

We retain Personal Information for as long as necessary or permitted by applicable law for the purpose for which it was collected, and as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, or enforce our agreements.

The Services are not directed toward children under 13 years old, and we do not knowingly collect personal information (as that term is defined by the U.S. Children’s Privacy Protection Act, or “COPPA”) from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe we have collected personal information from children, please contact us as set out in the Contacting Us section below. We will delete the personal information in accordance with COPPA.

Your personal information may be processed in any country where we operate or engage service providers. By using the Services, you understand and consent to the transfer of your information to countries with different data protection rules, including the United States, where authorities may access your Personal Information.

5.0 SHINE THE LIGHT DISCLOSURES

5.1 Under California’s Shine the Light law, customers who are residents of California may request (i) a list of the categories of personal information disclosed by us to third parties during the immediately preceding calendar year for those third parties’ own direct marketing purposes; and (ii) a list of the categories of third parties to whom we disclosed such information. To make a request, please write us at the email or postal address set out in the Contacting Us section above and specify that you are making a “California Shine the Light Request.” You may make this request once per calendar year, and we will respond in compliance with applicable law.

UELG serves as the data controller for the personal information gathered under this Privacy Policy.

Our collection and processing of your personal information strictly comply with applicable laws. This section outlines the purposes for which we use your personal information and the legal bases, as defined by relevant data protection legislation, that justify this use. We rely on one of the following legal bases for collecting and processing your personal information:

2.Performance of a Contract with You: We use your personal information when necessary to fulfill a contractual agreement with you. 1.Adequacy Decisions: Transfers to countries acknowledged by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of protection.

2.Standard Contractual Clauses and Cross-Border Transfer Mechanisms: Transfers to countries that lack sufficient protection, where the transfers are governed by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or other suitable cross-border transfer mechanisms designed to ensure adequate protection in compliance with applicable laws.

Please allow up to 30 (thirty) calendar days for us to respond to your request. If your request is complex or if multiple requests have been submitted, the response time may be extended. We will inform you if we need more than 30 (thirty) days to respond. There is no charge for obtaining a copy of your personal information or for exercising your rights. However, a reasonable administrative fee may apply for additional copies requested.
